Gebhardt Hires Staff, Builds Campaign Team

Updated: Feb 12

The Greg Gebhardt for Lieutenant Governor Campaign announced the hire of additional staff on Monday, naming David Capen to lead its team as campaign manager for the 9-way primary election, Caleb Johnson as political director, and Deanna Brunner as communications director. David Capen is a former aide to state Rep. David R. Lewis. A graduate of Campbell University's Lundy-Fetterman School of Business, David has cultivated his experience between Washington D.C, where he worked in the 115th Congress for the U.S. House Committee on Ways and Means, and Raleigh, where he served as an aide to the House Rules Chairman. Caleb Johnson earned his degree in Political Science and Government from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, where he served as Student Body President. Caleb is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration at Campbell University. Deanna Brunner studied communications and political science at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, where she earned her bachelor’s degree. Immediately following, Deanna launched her career with a political consulting company in Harrisburg, PA. Republican Lieutenant Governor Candidate Greg Gebhardt shared his confidence on the strong team: “We have a lot of work to do heading into the highly-contested primary election,” said Gebhardt, “I am confident that this team will bring together our conservative values with creative solutions that lead to victory at the ballot box on March 3rd.”  The Primary Election will be held on March 3, 2020, with early voting beginning on February 13.
